Ms. Record is a member in the Firm's real estate department. The first female member in the Firm's history, Ms. Record concentrates her practice in the area of community association law and residential real estate. Ms. Record's practice also includes simple estate planning, foreclosure, bankruptcy and other real estate-related work. Previously, Ms. Record was heavily involved in all aspects of construction defect litigation and was a member of the steering committee for community associations in the FRT Plywood consolidated litigation in the early 1990's.
Ms. Record is a 1986 graduate of Rutgers College where she received highest honors in the Political Science Department and the Class of 1876 Prize for the best essay on an assigned subject in a political science course. She received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1989.
Ms. Record was the 2008 President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, a former Trustee, and a past chair of its editorial and legislative action committees. While Ms. Record was chair of the legislation action committee, it was awarded best committee by the National Board of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). She has recently been elected to serve as a member of the national CAI's Business Partner's Council for a two-year term beginning in 2009. Ms. Record has lectured and written on both the national and state levels for members of the Community Associations Institute and has participated as an amicus curae on behalf of the New Jersey chapter of the Community Associations Institute in several cases. Ms. Record is also a past chair of the Common Interest Ownership Committee of the New Jersey Bar Association and a past president of the New Jersey Community Association Political Action Committee. She has been admitted to Community Associations Institute College of Community Association Lawyers.
Ms. Record has been the Secretary for the District XA and XB Ethics Committee since 2006. She was previously an investigator for the Committee from 1999 to 2003.
